Electronic Crash Bar & UniFi Access Troubleshooting in Chandler

Trinity Systems responded to a Chandler access-control service call for an electronic crash bar connected to a UniFi Access Hub and reader. Badge scans were registering and the door hardware could be heard clicking, but the door release was intermittent and sometimes required inward pressure.

Service Call Findings

Troubleshooting a crash bar that clicked but did not reliably release

  • Verified that the UniFi reader and access-control system were responding to badge scans
  • Confirmed the electronic exit device was receiving a release command and producing an audible click
  • Measured approximately 24.7 VDC incoming power during troubleshooting
  • Inspected the door latch, strike and mechanical alignment
  • Attempted latch/strike realignment to reduce binding at the door
  • Confirmed the release remained intermittent after adjustment
  • Identified the electronic crash-bar release mechanism as the likely remaining hardware issue and recommended confirming replacement hardware

This visit shows why commercial access-control troubleshooting should test both the electronic controls and the physical door hardware. A working credential reader does not automatically mean the locking hardware is releasing correctly.

Customer address, access credentials and sensitive security details are intentionally not published.

Common Questions

Access control and electronic crash bar service questions

Why does an electronic crash bar click but not unlock?

A click can confirm that the reader, hub or lock circuit is responding, but the door may still fail to release because of mechanical binding, latch alignment, an internal exit-device problem, wiring or insufficient power under load. Testing the electronics and the door hardware together helps isolate the problem.

Can UniFi Access work with an electronic crash bar?

Yes. UniFi Access can control compatible electrified exit devices when the hub, power supply, wiring, lock interface and required life-safety functions are correctly designed for the opening.

Do you service access-control systems installed by another company?

Yes. Trinity Systems provides service calls for existing commercial access-control systems, including UniFi Access, electronic exit devices, electric strikes, maglocks, readers, hubs and low-voltage wiring.

Need an access-control service call in Chandler?

If a reader accepts credentials but the door does not release correctly, we can test the access-control command, power, wiring, latch alignment and electronic door hardware to determine the next step.
